The Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić met in Sarajevo with the Head of the European Union Delegation to B&H and EU Special Representative in B&H Johann Sattler, who extended congratulations to Cardinal Puljić on the occasion of the Christmas holidays and thanked him for what he has done in B&H as the head of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese.
According to the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, they exchanged views on the current situation in the country and both agreed on the need to build a state and society in which everyone will be equal before the law and have equal rights and "how it is necessary to correct the mistakes made with the Dayton Peace Agreement".
In doing so, they pointed out that things can move forward despite the existing complicated system of government. Both agreed that B&H should be a state of equal rights for all its citizens and peoples, it is said in the statement.
They also talked about the current migrant crisis, and Sattler thanked Cardinal Puljić for raising his voice a few days ago and talking about the human dignity that every person deserves.
They also agree that it is necessary to ensure basic and humane living conditions for migrants.
This was the first meeting between Cardinal Puljić and Sattler since he took office on September 1, 2019, stated the Vrhbosna Archdiocese.
