After inmates of the new state prison in East Sarajevo, where inveterate criminals, convicted of aggravated murder, terrorism, rape and war crimes have been serving long prison sentences since the end of 2020., sent a letter to B&H Justice Minister Josip Grubeša a few days ago, complaining food prices in the canteen and telephone services, "Dnevni avaz" publishes the price list from the canteen from "B&H Alcatraz".
The prisoners wrote to Minister Grubeša that food prices were higher than in large shopping malls and that they had to pay five marks for a kilogram of oranges. They also pointed out that chocolate costs 5.85 KM, a kilo of lemon three KM...
When you look at food prices, based on the price list we got to see, it is obvious that individual items are much more expensive than in stores. The convicts claimed to Grubeša that the food prices in the entity institutions were much more affordable and that they thought that "in addition to hotel accommodation" in East Sarajevo, they would also have better nutrition.

For 300 grams of cheese pie, prisoners must pay 2.50 KM, and for the same weight of meat pie three KM.
Integral sliced loaf of bread which weights 400 grams costs 1.50 KM, and sandwiches with chicken three KM.
Cigarette boxes, depending on the manufacturer, cost from 5.50 KM to 9 KM.
One hundred grams of finely chopped tobacco costs 21 KM.
When it comes to water and juices, "Fanta Orange" of two liters costs 2.65 KM, orange juices 2.50 KM. For a kilogram of "Cedevita", it is necessary to set aside 10.95 KM. Water and iced teas cost from 0.90 KM to 1.20.
For five liters of water, because the prisoners complain that the ordinary one has a strange taste, it is necessary to set aside 2.20 KM.
The price of coffee in the canteen, depending on the weight and the manufacturer, costs from 1.95 KM to 7.25 KM. Teas cost from 2.65 to 5.30 KM. Snacks cost from 0.65 KM to 4.80 KM and that's how much Pringles Hot Chips up to 165 grams cost.
Milk and yoghurts cost from 1.35 to 2.15 KM. A liter of "Meggle" milk of 3.2 milk fat is 1.80 KM. Sirloin of 70 grams costs 3.80 KM, and dry pork sirloin 5.40 KM.
Chicken pâtés costs from 1.75 to 2.50 KM. Shampoos for hair 5.40 KM, body creams 3.50 KM, shower baths of 750 milliliters 8.85 KM, kilogram of bananas three KM, oranges five, garlic costs 5.50 KM, apples three, condoms 5.40 KM, chocolates from 2.20 to 5.85 KM.
