A protest in support of the arrested director of the Intelligence and Security Agency (ISA), Osman Mehmedagić, which is currently being held in front of the building of the Prosecutor's Office of B&H, and behind which stands an informal group of citizens, has not been announced. This information for "Avaz" was confirmed by Mirza Hadžiabdić, spokesman for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton.
- So, these are unannounced protests. The competent organizational unit will carry out checks and determine, if necessary, whether there are grounds for misdemeanor liability. We (MUP SC Op. cit.) have not received an official announcement at any time, with the proviso that we need to check it further, that nothing has been announced in the meantime. However, within this period of five days, ie a minimum of 48 hours in exceptional cases, there was no announcement within that period - Hadžiabdić specified.
According to him, the police ensure a peaceful gathering, but he underlined that the organizer is not known at this moment.
- We will carry out checks to see who the organizers are and take measures and actions to determine possible violations of the provisions of the Law on Public Assemblies of Sarajevo Canton - concluded Hadžiabdić.
It should be reminded that this morning at 9:30 a group of citizens gathered in front of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina to send support to the arrested director of ISA. He was arrested in Sarajevo yesterday on suspicion of committing crimes of abuse of office or authority, forgery of documents and money laundering.
Investigators are also checking allegations that Mehmedagić forged a diploma which he used to apply for the position of director of ISA, and how he bought two residential buildings in Sarajevo is also suspicious.
