High Representative Christian Schmidt paid a visit to the B&H Constitutional Court, where he met with Court President Mato Tadić and his associates.
The High Representative outlined the importance of fully respecting the independence and the authority of the B&H Constitutional Court, including the enforcement of the decisions of the Court that are final and binding.
This is not only a constitutional obligation but also a prerequisite for further strengthening of the rule of law and the legal stability of the country and for honoring commitments undertaken on the EU accession path.
- The B&H Constitutional Court is a key institution for upholding the B&H Constitution and resolving disputes arising under the Constitution. In the past period, the Court greatly contributed to the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, ensuring respect for the Rule of Law and acting as the ultimate institutional guarantee for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms - said High Representative Schmidt.
