Adnan Šerak was brought today from the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo to the Sarajevo Municipal Court, under heavy security of the court police, where the proposal for a one-month detention for Šerak was considered before the judge for preliminary proceedings Dženana Jovanović.
Šerak came to the Court on crutches and it was seen that his left leg was injured. It is known that after his arrest he was immediately taken to the Clinical Center, and as we know, he was treated medically for the bite of a large spider.
The prosecutor confirmed at the hearing that he stands by the proposal to order Šerak into custody due to the risk of escaping, and the risk that he could repeat or complete the crime.
Šerak's lawyer Kerim Čelik, opposed the proposal and said that the suspect, due to his condition, has no intention of running away because if he was released, he would go to further recovery. The lawyer said that there is no evidence that Šerak committed the criminal acts of robbery and unlawful deprivation of liberty.
The defense does not dispute that the criminal offense of causing minor injuries was committed, but that it is not possible to determine who committed this criminal offense from the record of the witness hearing.
After the hearing, Šerak was returned to the premises of the court police, and judge Dženana Jovanović will later make a decision on detention.
